Hi Charlie!

Greetings from the desert! It’s been a crazy couple of months, but I’m finally settled in, and things are going well… It’s certainly an entirely different world, particularly with how radio works…it’s almost as if we’re trying to catch everyone else here up to the year 2000 or so…but it’s still been a lot of fun.

I’ve wanted to tell you this since I got here… The second day after landing in Dubai, I went into my hotel room after being down at the pool. I’d left the television on, and when I came in, I instantly recognized the voice coming out of the TV. It was you! I assume this was what your “TV Tuesdays” were all about. You were narrating some coming attractions for new movies on a channel called Dubai One… I’m not one to get homesick, but admittedly, it was really nice to hear a friendly voice. Also, we have this shared news room staff that all of the stations at the Arabian Radio Network utilize, and one of the female British announcers was fairly impressed that I know Charlie Tuna. Apparently your reach is global, my friend.

I’m hearing great things about your sound on K-Earth…any chances of a regular Tuna slot opening up?

The latest ratings indicate it wasn’t the best move, both Brent’s show in the afternoon and my show in the morning easily delivered better ratings than they have now. Brent is now working for a new radio station that’s owned and run by Richard Branson of Virgin Airlines fame, in one of the fastest growing cities in the world, Dubai.)
