Kanye West with 7 & Adele with 6 lead Grammy nominees Wednesday!
Musical highlight of the night, Lady Gaga & Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland closing the Grammy Nominations Special!
Rapper Kanye West scored a leading 7 nominations, 6 of them in rap categories, for the 54th annual Grammy Awards, but British singer Adele, collected six nominations include the most prestigious categories of record, album and song of the year. Adele’s career has been interrupted by surgery on her vocal cords, which cut short her American tour, and it is not known whether she will be recovered to perform at the Grammy Awards telecast February 12 at Staples Center. Academy officials this year announced the elimination of 31 categories to bring the total down to 78, a move that pleased some Grammy critics but unleashed the wrath of many musicians who had hoped for recognition in deleted fields. And four top sellers from the last 12 months — Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Lady Gaga — collected just 3 nominations among them in the leading categories, Taylor Swift being shut out in the general categories. Lady Gaga & Sugarland wrapping up a star studded Grammy nomination special.
