Muhammad Ali is still considered one of the world’s greatest athletes, and one of America’s most famous boxers. I had a chance to meet & speak with Ali back in the mid 80′s when I was the announcer for Alan Thicke’s late night talk show “Thicke Of The Night”and he was a guest. I explained to Muhammed that my dad was a boxer too, who was ranked as one of the best up & coming boxers in the early 40′s fighting out of Madison Square Garden in New York City while hanging out with Joe Louis, Max Baer, and all the greats before being drafted for World War 2. My dad was a big fan, so Muhammad took the time not just for an autograph, but drew a boxing ring, and some very nice words for my dad with the picture. Dad proudly framed that & hung it on my parent’s living room wall for all to see:) This video debuted the night before the London 2012 Opening Ceremony, Team USA‘s Benefit Gala in honor of Ali premiered this tribute, made with the help of DJ Steve Porter, to the great boxer that has gone viral.
