ESPN star anchor Hannah Storm was back on the air New Year’s day, hosting the ABC Rose Parade telecast just three weeks after a propane gas grill accident left her with first-and second-degree burns to her face, hands, chest and neck. Storm lost roughly half her hair in the accident December 11 outside her home in Connecticut. She wore extensions for the ABC telecast and her left hand was bandaged. Storm’s eyebrows and eyelashes were burned off. A makeup artist drew on eyebrows for the telecast.

I didn’t watch Hannah’s coverage of the parade, but I hope she continues to heal well! She is a gutsy person and I hope what happened to her is a warning about the care you have to take around propane!

It would be awesome if she used her star power to help other burn victims have access to hair and make-up that they normally couldn’t afford. Perhaps a fundraiser?
