Okay, so here's my schedule for the next 10 days. This Friday morning, and all next week Monday through Friday, I'll be guest hosting for Gary Bryan and the morning gang while they take a vacation, so I hope you'll have a chance to listen. As for my weekend shows, KRTH is giving me Sundays off the next two weekends so I have that day to regroup. So don't be surprised when I'm not on that 7th day on Sunday this weekend and next. Housekeeping business all done, now on with the fun.

"BUZZ" Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony are parents of twins & 4 are eliminated on Idol. "PHOTO GALLERY" has Mike Love of the Beach Boys and me on stage at a nationally televised TV concert at the Queen Mary in 1981!
July 4, 1981. One of the great nights in my career that I'll never forget. My longtime friend and even business partner at one time, Wolfman Jack and I hosted a nationally syndicated 4th of July TV concert special featuring Pablo Cruise, Three Dog Night, and The Beach Boys, all of the original ones, including Brian. 50,000 people showed up in the parking lot of the Queen Mary in Long Beach where we staged it, and it was non stop entertainment all night long.
An email from KRTH 101 listener Tom McCarthy offering me a DVD copy off his original VHS tape of the TV special, was what got me thinking about this night again. Marty Pasetta was the director of the TV special, he was the best in the business back then directing most of the Academy Award shows too in that era. Only problem that evening was just Wolfman and I trying to hear each other from different locations for each of us, over the roaring crowd that Marty decided to place Wolfman and I in to capture the excitement of the event.
Here's a youtube clip of part of the concert where I've just been on stage talking with Mike Love and the Beach Boys and I'm starting to walk off stage left. I'm in a red shirt with white stripes and you'll see me shake Mike's hand before exiting.

The Academy Awards are coming up this Sunday evening at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, and a special treat for you this Saturday on my 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. KRTH 101 Radio Show. Back in 1974 at the 46th annual Oscars, while actor David Niven was speaking, a young man named Robert Opel ran across the stage completely naked and has gone down in history as the most memorable moment on the Academy Awards.
The morning after that happened, I decided on my morning radio show to try and reach Robert on the phone, interview him and find out what made him do it, how difficult was it to get past security and what happened to him afterwards. Hear more of his story a few months later Saturday with me on KRTH 101.

"BUZZ" today features videos of all the male contestants on "American Idol" last night. "PHOTO GALLERY" has actress & former L.A. Ram's cheerleader Jenilee Harrison of "Three's Company" and "Dallas" fame.
Computers.....there's a love-hate relationship somedays with them. Today was one of the latter, as was yesterday. The server for my website keeps losing hundreds of files before they can be archived and my son Bryan has to go in and try and rescue them and restore them for viewing and listening. And when he can't, in some cases, I have to do the work all over again. That's just one of the hazards of modern technology...Lost in Cyberspace!!!
There can be a problem too, when it comes to your computer's spell checker. Just look.
