Hey Charlie,

Just another one of your fans.... I actually started listening back in the 93 KHJ days..... My parents gave me a little black AM radio... and I was hooked! I did have some influence from my older brothers too! I was so excited when I heard you again on KBIG. I am a itinerant teacher for visually impaired kids, and am in and out of the car all day. I have enjoyed spending my mornings with you while on my way to work!!! I can't wait for the next stop on the dial for you... I look forward to hearing your morning chatter... news... and funnies!

Good luck in all you do!

Juli-anne

Congratulations on this next step

Good Afternoon Mr. Tuna,

I tuned in to KBIG just in time to catch your announcement about your departure from KBIG. It saddens me that you are not at that part of my radio dial during my morning commute, however I am positive you will return in another location in the not-so-distant future. I also enjoyed tuning in recently to your Tuna-Thon and was touched by your dedication to those children and their families. Thank you for your efforts to raise awareness and much needed financial support.

I look forward to hearing from you and wish you every bit of happiness in this new and exciting chapter of your life.

With care,

Paula Kupiec

I am a 104.3 listener and I loved listening to you every morning that i was in town, (flight attendant ) but now it is not the same, I miss hearing your voice.

I was listening to your last show, I was at the office and I was so moved by your mannerism and class act.

You are a class act Charlie.

What are you doing at clear channel??????????

Who is this St John guy, I hate his voice, get rid of him? Why can't you be on, but Valentine has your job???

Missing you.

I hope to see you and meet you personally on one of my flights at United. God Bless.

Linda

Well, keep us posted till you hit the air waves again, radio will not be the same.

Hi Charlie,

I was shocked to read the news in my paper.

I have to admit that I had to stop listening to K-Big when they changed their music format a few years ago, but I when I first found out that you were on K-Big years before that, I felt like I had found a long lost friend. You have the friendliest voice I've ever heard.

I don't know who these Clear Channel people are but they haven't got a clue what people want or they wouldn't take you off the air.

Good Luck and God Bless,

Gail Peterson

I hope not good bye for long

Dear Charlie:

I listened to KBIG because you were there to get me through my morning. You are the best! I am not sure how the “new” MYFM will do but it's not the same. I plan to check in on your website to find out where you are because I will switch stations to listen to you.

Thank you for making my mornings and I wish you the best because you deserve the best.

Sincerely,
Rhoberta “Bert” Paz

Hi Charlie,

I have been such a fan of your morning show. I started listening every morning at 5:30 and was never disappointed. I could always count on a fun, CLEAN, show—with no swear words, and no sex talk. Now all we have is another shock-type dj-Valentine. I don’t even turn on the radio anymore when I get up. K-big made a huge mistake. I look forward to hearing you on the air again soon!

A loyal fan,

Lynne

Hey Tuna Dude...What a good run you had! I started my radio career in Thousand Oaks at KNJO in 1968 and remember fondly all the great LA radio personalities who inspired me to go for it including you. We all would get together and try to do the Tuna "Pipes"...KHJ's Frank Terry became a close friend and we lost him back in June...I'm sure all will work out great for you as you have great focus and character...best of luck!

Hi Charlie,

Can’t believe that I'm not hearing your voice coming thru to me on my morning drive to work. I’m another one of “those” listeners that has followed you from one radio station to the next for the past 40 years. I can’t believe that I’m this old but I do remember the KHJ days!!! I even remember wondering why you missed work one day; the mystery was answered the next day when you were back on the air and announced the birth of your son Bryan!

I just want you to know that I’ve enjoyed listening to you over the years and my morning drive won’t be the same until you reappear again; hopefully really soon. So thanks for so many fun, crazy, caring, thoughtful, teary eyed moments. The airwaves of L.A. won’t be the same until your voice and laugh return…

Francie

Dear Charlie,
My kids did not have school your last Monday, and I decided to sleep in- WHAT A MISTAKE! Little did I know that you would be signing off! As so many have said to you, I have listened to you my entire Life, as long as I can remember playing the radio. I wish you only the best, and I hope we get to hear your perspectives on So. Cal. again soon.
My mornings are not the same....

Hi Charlie-

I have listened to you for as long as I can remember. I have enjoyed your morning show, it made my drive to work fun and kept my mind active through the dreadful morning traffic! I listened to the "new station", not only did I not like it, it just did not feel right, not having you and your crew on the air left an enormous void.

I hope you will to hear you on the air again soon!!!!

I was wondering what happened a month ago when i turned on my car radio! I was like...where's charlie! I'm sad...you are one of my favorites!

Its the station's loss.....I think Clear Channel is managed by morons...I already stopped listening to one of their stations over what I felt was a morning show injustice once...so its just another Clear Channel station deleted from my dial!

If I ran a radio station...I would have you on it!

Good things will come out of this!

Take good care, and keep us posted....

Charlie,

I was so crushed when you announced you would not be on the air. I have listened to you for years and really miss hearing you on the radio.

40 years is fantastic and I am sure there are more years to come. Soon I hope.

I will say I was grateful that you were able to say goodbye on the air and give this website.

Best of luck to you and I will be checking this website often.

Still hoping to hear you on the air soon! The morning shows are tough to listen to, I have resorted to Mark and Brian cause KBIG isn't the same its terrible and is very hard to listen to.

Dear Charlie,
I was also someone who grew up in the 50's and still remember you on the radio. I was SO sad to hear that you were going off the air on Kbig! It was a sudden shock as I'm sure it was to many others. I so admire you; you are such a class act. Hopefully others can take heed of your example and act as such if they ever encounter a curve in their road. You deserve only the best in life; I am a 3 yr. breast cancer survivor and know that every day is precious! Take care of you and yours and know that I've been touched by you through the years.

God Bless!

I really liked the morning show....everyday while I was driving to work..I always listened to you...

Please don't leave us....I liked the morning talk show...this morning while driving...I was bored, instead of listening to the radio....I played my CD player...

I hope the management will return your morning show.....I really miss the show...

The sooner you get back on the air the better – we miss you. Have no idea who this “yo-yo” is but the show is boring and totally uninteresting. The music they play is putting me to sleep – repetitive and just “blah” – miss your good humor – Carol.

Good evening Charlie,

Like many of your fans who called the last day you were on KBIG, I feel like your radio personality has been around me my whole life! I will admit that I never looked at your personality page or anything else with the station…you and the crew were my good morning friends until I arrived at work where I am the superintendent of a large urban/suburban school district and listening to the radio is not a remote possibility!

When I checked out your web site tonight I realized that one of the reasons that I presume I have listened to you forever is that my uncle, Bob Freed, was also associated with the early days of KHJ as an announcer – did you know him? He is often mentioned in histories of radio with his work not only in Los Angeles, but also Cincinnati and Denver. I know it is still early in this KBIG transformation, but I am not an immediate fan with the changes…

And when I checked out your website I realized that you are not the silver haired gentleman I pictured – that is a compliment by the way.

Susan Rainey

Hi Charlie,
Miss ya, your great, soothing voice on the old KBIG. But I know I will be hearing from you again in the near future!!!

I been listening to ya since your days at 93 KHJ when I had this cheapie little radio that didn't have very good reception and I was just a little girl. You played the best music then and now.

I don't understand why the format & name changed. Can you possibly explain the change?

Good luck and will be hearing from you soon,
Susan Mc

Charlie,

I still can’t believe what has happened, I keep logging into KBIG’s website thinking this is just another joke! Why was this done? It is not the same!!! Every morning you were the first voice I heard when I left my house @ 5am for work. You kept me going at work. I have to be honest, I have gone to another station, until I hear that you are back on the air. Maybe because I am so upset, but even the music is horrible now! What about the other DJ’s as well!?! Oh I am so upset!!!!! I have not been able to concentrate. Please say this is just a joke!

A fan…Gaby

Hi Charlie,

Just recently until today learned that you are no longer at the radio station, formerly KBig. I was on a three month gov't detail and didn't have much time for the radio. I was hoping to catch up on things and points, but was very upset and disappointed that there is no KBig with Charlie Tuna. I only listened to the new station once and sorry to say didn't like it. It definitely is not the same without you. I couldn't take it and turned off the radio again. I hope that you are soon on the air again.

Faithful Fan

Irma

Charlie,

Listening to you in the morning was like a breath of fresh air. I thought after a while I would get used to you being gone and listening to Valentine would be ok, but I realized that no one can fill your shoes on the air. The morning show is not the same without you so I’ve decided that I will be changing from KBIG. Thank you for the many years of refreshing mornings.

Warm regards,

Sophia Silcox
