Thanks for the memories
Received: 11/14/2007 @ 9:54am PST
From: Rick Rule
Hi,
I've been listening to radio my whole life. I was fortunate enough to be listening during the Golden Age of LA top 40. While Robert W and The Real Don Steele and B. Mitchell are gone, you are thankfully still here. To people like me who grew up and still live and work in Southern California, it basically is Vin Scully and you. Yes, you do belong there with Vin.
Thank you so much for so many years of enjoyment. I have listened through all of the stations and all of the formats (even when I didn't like the music at some of the stops). I hope you come back soon to brighten my mornings. Thank you for being such a professional
Thanks
Rick

Hi charlie,
I just wanted to email you and let you know how strange it is not hearing your voice on the radio on my daily drive to work. Quickly you became one of my favorite morning shows and it was a pleasure to be able to listen to you. Thanks again for all the great mornings. You are missed.

Hi Charlie,
We were shocked to learn that KBIG was changing and you were saying your goodbyes! My family (all five of us in different homes) listen to you. We had the fortune to also meet you at the free car events last year too.
We want to wish you (and the others) well and will follow you to whichever station you start back on. We know that you will return most definitely! You are missed a lot, and you still have more great things coming your way. Keep your spirits up!

I have listened to you my whole adult life. I was born and raised in California and I remember you from the old days at KHJ.
Although you have changed stations over the years, you always seem to pop back up. As a loyal listener of yours, I will find you again.
Your the one of the best dj's. It would be great to see you with shotgun Tom. KRTH would be a good fit for you.
Good luck, and let us know where you go to next.
A very faithful listener,

LOVE YOUR WEBSITE
Received: 11/13/2007 @ 10:39am PST
From: Sandy Groscup
Thank you and your wonderful son for bringing you back in connection with us listeners! Although we do not hear your voice on air, your website is the next best thing. I LOVE the layout, LOVE the format, LOVE everything about it! Its very informative and a lot of fun to navigate and read. The airwaves are not the same, not without our Charlie. I find myself listening to my 5-year old daughters music more each morning, as there is NO CHARLIE TUNA! Thanks for keeping me up to date with each days news and events. Thank you too for putting on bonus fun links (as I call them). LOVED the Mystical Ball! Still cannot figure it out. At first, I thought maybe the computer is studying my mouse movements, but nope, that was not the case. I even had my boss (a lawyer) stumped by it too. It literally freaked us all out. THANK YOU AGAIN, CHARLIE & SON. I'LL BE TUNING INTO YOUR WEBSITE DAILY TO GET MY TUNA FIX!
Sincerely,
Your faithful Tuna listener,
Sandy Groscup

I look forward to hearing you again soon. It was sad to turn on the radio and hear that KBIG was no more. I am only 35 and I have heard 100 radio station format changes over the years since I was a kid, but I never thought KBIG would go away. It’s a sad day.

Charlie I miss u soooo much!
I can’t listen to the station right now because it is just too weird. Maybe one day…
I never got to meet you in person. I always tried to make some of your locations but I live in Palmdale and it was just too hard. The times I did meet up with the KBIG truck; it was always someone else I saw.
My prayers are with you and I hope to find you soon somewhere radio/in person. You are much loved and you’ve done great work.
Just had to share. I miss you so much. Good luck to you.

Hi Charlie:
You seem like someone who has such a passion for radio. I was pretty shocked to find out that the format changed. It is sad whenever things change and you get used to hearing someone who does his/her job well and is no longer broadcasting. It sounds like you are the type who will continue with optimism and find another opportunity. Thanks for your commitment to radio and I hope to find you on the air again.
All the best,
Mary

Charlie,
I have never written to a radio personality before. But as others have said, I feel compelled to tell you how devastated I was to hear you were leaving KBIG and that they were cancelling your show. I just can't tell you how sad I was and very disturbed. I hadn't realized how much I had come to depend on hearing you in the morning. I ended up staying home from work that morning to listen to your whole final show, and I was so sad.
I appreciate your sincerity, your wholesomeness, and your friendliness. I'm so glad so many people have written to you. Add me to your list. I need you back on the radio!
Thanks, Charlie, for everything. I hope to hear from you again soon.

Thru the years I've listened to a lot of wonderful air checks. Got to tell you...I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every,"Clip", that you have placed on your website. Especially, the ones about Hell and Part 2 featuring, "The Sylmar Earthquake and Mickey Mantle"! Of course, your wisdom and personality is expressed in, 'Recent Tuna News'.
Thank You Charlie for sharing with those of us some of your thoughts and portions of your show. That otherwise, we would never have the privilege to hear.
May God Bless You

Hey Charlie,
What happened to you??? I was listening to Kbig and was shocked to see that they changed their radio format. What is Kbig without you? I have been a loyal listener for several years and remember you way, way back.... in the day. I really hope that Clear Channel knows what they are doing because the MAIN reason that I listened to Kbig was because of you. Well I am praying that Clear Channel gets their act together and gets back my main reason and many other person's reasons for listening to the station. Take care Charlle and hope to listen to you in the future.
A loyal listener,

Hi Charlie,
I just wanted to write a quick e-mail to say how much I miss hearing your voice in the morning. It's very sad not hearing you as I battle morning traffic. You always made me laugh, and you are truly missed. I hope that the bigwigs at "MYFM" will come to their senses and bring you back soon. I have no idea why they decided to change the programing, but in my opinion they messed up.
I wish you well in whatever comes next in your career.
Sincerely,

Thanks for making my long commutes so enjoyable and I look forward to hearing you back on the air in the very near future!

Charlie..
I have been a fan for more years than I care to remember. You have the best voice in radio.
I really dislike the new format, I loved listening to you. Where’s my daily Hollywood report and cheezemae.
It wouldn’t be so bad if you just moved to another radio station, all I would have to do is reset my car radio to your new station.
Please get back on the radio quickly, miss you.

Please do let me know where you'll be broadcasting from next.

It's not the same in the mornings :(
Received: 11/09/2007 @ 3:52pm PST
From: Rebecca Parmer
Dear Charlie,
I've been waking up to you for the past 7 years since I moved down here from Fresno. That morning when my alarm went off, I didn't even budge because it wasn't Charlie on the radio! To tell you the truth, I really don't like some of that music that is on kbig 104 now. In fact, my car radio didn't know any other station! But now, on my to and from work, I channel surf... something that I very rarely do. I guess you would say that I was a die-hard kbig 104 fan! My radio at work was even tuned in to you! I felt that a change was coming because of the way certain shows were being played. But I thought they'd NEVER do away with the fantastic morning show. Do they realize how many people looked forward to your show? Obviously not!
They say that change is good and when one door closes, another will open! I sure hope so! I almost feel like it's a bad dream!!
Well, I will keep checking your website to see where you are and I'll pray that we are blessed with getting to hear you on another morning show soon!
Take care Charlie and thank you for so many years of greatness!
Most sincerely,
Rebecca :)

Hey Charlie
back in 1980 or '81 you interviewed me as a 13 year old kid for a Defender videogame contest, though i can't remember where or what it was for (or anything). all i remember is i was nervous as heck. Now i've just learned KBIG is no longer, it's now MYradio or some
crap, and your no longer with it. No more Disco Sat Nights, Boogie Nights or Charlie Tuna early in the AM, what the heck is going in the world? Everything just gets worse and worse, it's bad enough i complain about everything else, now I can add the last cool radio station (and DJ) to that list. sigh, it's all over..i mean KBIG leaving was the last straw in the thin stack holding the world together..now we can finally say it's the end of the world.
Sincerely

Poor Decision
Received: 11/09/2007 @ 12:10pm PST
From: Debbie Cronin
Dear Charlie:
I am in utter disbelief at what KBIG 104.3 did to you. I can't believe I am going thru this again. I freaked out the first time on April Fool's Day. Since that was only a joke, this time, as the first time, is not very funny. I have been a loyal KBIG listener for over 15 years but have really enjoyed your seven years with a great emotional affection. You bring to life all of the things I have grown up to love everyday. Of course I have listened to you since my high school days in sunny California. I can't imagine what Clear Channel was thinking when they made this 'EXECUTIVE DECISION' . With no advance notice only displays my concern with other life changing decisions that happen to all of us everyday. We are all concerned with our jobs and futures sooooo I can feel hurt and dispair for you and the entire staff. You guys are like my family, everyone one of you. My daughter is 27 years old, just like your son. Instead of soccer we played softball with college scholarships. My youngest daughter just turned 18 on the day we sent her to college in August on a softball scholarship also. I am the person who won the car on the American Red Cross for Katrina victims raffle at North County Toyota (they raised over $17,000.00). Luckly I have my great live radio conversation with you on file, thanks to the great Heather. I have contributed to all of your Tunathon's because of your hard work. Look how much money you have raised for this worthy cause. Your staff complimented you, Irma: Cari, Brent, Christen all your family and mine. My entire family always teased me about KBIG and my infatuation with the station. Although they were just as devoted knowing everything and everybody. My oldest daughter, a social worker and school counselor has decided that I need serious grief and anger management counseling over this decision made by KBIG. The old saying "If it is not broken, don't fix it" definitely fit here. If it wasn't working I would have picked up my business and taken it elsewhere. Your format was one of ultimate love and concern for everyone. I can't remember any instances where you displayed anything other than upbeat expression of true radio experience. I know how everything was left open with no answers given to all of us loyal listeners, one can only wonder what are they thinking. I know we were invited to comment on this situation, there is no place on the new website to post my feelings. I have spoken to you on many occassions where you personally answered the phone. This whole KBIG fiasco has left me feeling like I have gone thru a divorce and given up all of my children for adoption. I know I can go on forever but I have taken tooooo much of your time already. Please let me know if I can voice my opion anywhere else. I know thousands of people are contacting you but hopefully I can help bring some joy to you as you have always given me. Look forward to hearing from you, Maybe KBIG will take a look at the poor decision they have made.
With all of my love,
Debbie Cronin
