I just want to say that kbig was awesome. You and everyone else in your morning show were great! Thank you so much for giving us a great show to listen to in the mornings. I don't understand why all of a sudden they can just take an awesome show away? Why, Why, Why???? That's not fair!
Love you lots,

LA's Best Radio Personality
Received: 11/08/2007 @ 10:50pm PST
From: Gary Kramer
Charlie,
I've lived in LA my whole life- 41 yrs now. I've listened to you since as far back as I can remember. When I think of listening to the radio in my mom's old Chevy stationwagon, with that AM only radio, it was your voice that came out through the speakers on KHJ. You are an important part of some of my earliest memories.
What a kick it has been listening to you in the mornings on K Big. Especially since I am all grown up now and have kids that are as young as I was when I first listened to you in my mom's old Chevy.
Charlie, as an LA native and a kid from Tarzana, I thank you for all the memories and being such a constant pillar of stability in a world full of sweeping changes. I look forward to again hearing your comforting voice over the LA Airwaves soon.
Best to you and your family.

Holy Cow Charlie!
I can't believe I'm not hearing your broadcast on my way to work every morning! I've been a fan of yours since I was in college, and that was 30+ years ago. I don't like "jumping ship" on a station I've enjoyed so much, but the reason I listened to KBIG was you and your great, entertaining, and informative morning show. It was a terrific way to start each day, and every day should start with a smile and a positive attitude. The station is going to take whatever direction they choose regardless of what we, the listening public say, however I don't intend to go that direction. I'm looking forward to hearing you again on the air in the very near future. You're great, Charlie!

Hi there,
I’m a socal native, I am only 36 yrs old, but I remember listening to you on KEarth 101 and more recently on KBIG. It’s so weird that they changed the format so abruptly. The whole morning crew was great. Good luck with whatever happens for you next. I look forward to hearing you on the radio again.
Monique Filips
PS My husband is from Spencer NE (the Northeast corner) and went to UNL, Go Big Red!
(Just a note to Monique, and so many others who have said the same thing....I have never worked at KEarth 101, except for a 4 show audition back in 1998 when Robert W. Morgan retired and had personally picked me to succeed him...he even told me what kind of money to ask for:)...but there were a lot of weird things going on with their management back then, so it didn't work out at that time. Later that year I started on 570/KLAC, which less than 2 years later led to me winding up on their sister station, KBIG.)

KBIG's Loss
Received: 11/08/2007 @ 12:44pm PST
From: Peggy Sanchez
I was out of town, had no idea and when I tuned in, as always, what is automatically set, in my entire House, cars and work, Kbig, to listen to the morning show with Charlie. I thought we had a power outage, or someone had messed with my channel, and then it became the dismal truth, you were gone for whatever reason somebody made, to change something that was good, the best radio station, to who knows what.
I just want you to know how sad this has made me feel. I felt like I have known you all these years. I had tried to call you several times and I always thought, aw, I can always call and now, I am devastated I cannot. I wanted to tell you I first heard you in Frankfurt Germany, on AFN Frankfurt in the 70's. I was part of the Radio Club at Frankfurt American High School and had a show called Teen 30 at AFN and then after I graduated in 71, had my own show called Rock Shop on AFN Frankfurt on Saturday mornings in 71 and 72. I had gotten my inspiration from you back then. I was so thrilled to have found you again when I moved to LA to where I could listen to you after all these years, and now you are off the air.
You have such a faithful audience and faithful followers, you should just have your own station . I am sure we all could raise money for that.
I could go on and on, but I am sure the airways will not stay silent long and your voice will once again chime out of my radio. Please let me know where you end up and where we can tune in to hear you.
A faithful Tuna Fan,
Peggy Sanchez

Mr. Charlie Tuna,
It is a difficult time for Los Angeles Radio! I am a member of LARADIO.com and have listened to your show over the years, and like many over your career Mr. Tuna appreciate your activism in the community and daily doses of humor. I wish you all of the best and hope to hear you on our dial somewhere soon down the road.
Los Angeles Radio listeners can always count on your class, professionalism, and your great ability to bring listener, music and radio together...a trait that not many have in our modern era. I am thirty four but have a great love for the old time jocks like Robert W and The Real Don Steele, and Charlie Tuna you are right up there with them.
Thank your for making mornings better and may this change workout in the end for you.

I and my son still miss listening in the mornings to you. Andrew and I started listening when he started high school. This is his last year in high school. We so much enjoyed the big 5 and the car giveaways. The community of the day was a family affair. The station is not the same without your voice and the nice humor. We wish you the best hopefully we'll hear you soon.

Hi, Charlie my wife and I have been listened to you and your station for about 10 years, and you 7. And let me tell you that hearing the news on the radio was a shocker for us. Thanks for everything you have done for LA and especially Children's Hospital and I know they are going to miss you very much. My kids used to listen to your fundraiser from children's hospital everytime you had it. My daugther even met you at the Santa Anita Race track when you guys were there. Well we are going to miss you and please keeps us updated on your plans so we can listen to you wherever you go.
Good luck and Take care we are going to miss you.

I've never called you on your radio program nor have I written to you before. I guess you might say that I'm one of the silent majority who just enjoys listening to you every morning on the way to work. But it's not the same anymore without you on the air. I listened to the new myfm, but it wasn't the same. I ended up switching to my CD music. Thank goodness for the web; I'll know where you'll be next. Hope to hear your familiar voice in the morning again soon!

Please add me to the list of people who love hearing you on the radio and are disappointed that you are not on the air. Like many of us in Los Angeles, I have listened to you for years and followed you from station to station dating back to when you were on KHJ. My morning drive is not the same without you and the rest of the gang and I hope to hear you on the air again soon.
Best wishes to you in whatever path you take now,
Laurie J Kornblau
P.S. I hope the people at Clear Channel know what they are doing, but until you are on the air again, I can switch on my cd player

I’m so upset that you are no longer on the radio I have been listening to you everyday for the past seven years on the way to work and always enjoyed your show, this MYFM is not for me
I grew up with KBIG and the air waves won’t be the same with out it. Not to date you but my dad used to listen to you as a teenager and as you can see you have been a big part of our radio listening lives
I miss you in the morning but do look forward to hearing you real soon on the airwaves again.
Take Care and God Bless!

Hi,
I am sad not to hear your morning program any more. I enjoyed hearing you since I 1st heard you on KHJ. Your name caught my attention back then. It reminded me of the tuna ad “Sorry Charlie” & I wondered if Charlie Tuna was your true name. I’m happy the station let you say good bye on the air. I hope to hear you back on the air really soon! Please let me know when you will have your program again because I’ve switched.

Aloha Charlie-
I remember that April Fool's joke and I felt sooo sad then. I got back from vacation and found out that it's for real this time. I have enjoyed listening to you on my daily commute from West Covina to Fullerton. I enjoyed the music you played, but just being able to listen to your voice made everything seem okay, no matter what the traffic was like. I appreciated your humor...you never got nasty just for a laugh. I miss hearing your voice in the mornings. I've never had the privilege of meeting you in person, but you were still part of my day...like family!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish you the best and hope that you will have as much fun in your next endeavor. Take care.

It wasn't broken
Received: 11/06/2007 @ 6:42pm PST
From: Mickey Martinez
Hi Charlie,
So why did the station change the format - it wasn't broken! I stopped listening. I used to listen to K-earth until they moved Gary Bryan to the afternoon and I switched to you. Even when they put him back in the morning slot, I still listened to you. Guess what, I'm back listening to Gary. I like him but obviously he has a different style than you did.
Well, I hope you are doing fine and happy in whatever you are doing but please tell the big media bosses that I think they made a big mistake! The music was great (except when you played the hard rock and rap) and I'm now searching for a new station.
Take care and best of luck!

Dear Charlie,
I started listening to you on my drive to work on the 60 freeway back in the 70's. You made me laugh and definitely made the drive SO much better! I needed you so badly then, being new to California from Missouri and not being used to the horrible L.A. traffic. But you, dear, funny one made my drive tolerable. :-)
Can't wait to hear your much loved familiar voice SOON.
Good luck, I feel like you're my steadfast friend,

Hi Charlie,
I couldn't believe it when I was listening to you that Monday. It was like that hollow feeling in the gut when I heard you tell us the bad news. I still have a picture of you and your son that I took about 10 to 15 years ago when I recognized you at Knott's Berry Farm. I was hoping to have you sign it someday. Please let us know where you will turn up again, and I know you will. I have followed you from am to fm and beyond. Best Wishes.

Hello Charlie Tuna,
I just can't believe that you are no longer on the air!!! I thought it was a joke and I was hearing things. I was very sad and upset that it was true. You made my morning drive (Chino to Yorba Linda) smoother and entertaining (Thank You for that). I just love hearing your voice and I'm looking forward to know where you're going to be next. I always told my friends to listen to K-Big because of you and will do the same wherever you go.
I think K-Big made a big mistake by taking you off the air! The station just isn't the same. Thank you again for just being YOU! and I hope to hear from you soon!!!!
Take care of yourself and God Bless You!

Charlie,
I guess I'm one of the "silent ones" who have listened to you for years (I won't tell you how many but I did run out of fingers and toes to count on) and have never called or written before until NOW ... but I felt THIS IS THE TIME TO SPEAK!!
I was SHOCKED on my drive to work when I heard you talking about GOODBYE. I emailed KBIG (Opps ... 104.3MYfm) my displeasure of their new format. My answer to them was "BRING BACK CHARLIE".
Maybe all your fans need to participate in an old fashioned letter campaign (am I dating myself?) ... I guess today we would call it an "email campaign"... BRING BACK CHARLIE!!!
On that note I will say GOOD LUCK ... not GOOD BYE! I will check your website daily and await news. Please do include me in your mass emailing when your plans finalize.
Hoping to hear you on the radio soon,

Charlie,
I used to listen to KZLA and Peter Tilden. One year they decided to start playing Christmas music before even Thanksgiving was over. This upset me and I switched to your station. I was a bit unsure at first but then I came to love your station and you and everyone else there. I looked forward to getting in my car every morning and turning on the radio. You helped make my drive to work so much better (I dread going to work!). And I also enjoyed the afternoon personalities on my way home. I especially loved the Hollywood Report. I miss that. I miss you, Charlie. I don't like the new station or the format. Besides there are already 2 other stations like that. Why do we need more???
I hope you find a new home and soon and come back to us! I know I"m not alone in my feelings. Thank you for being a big part of my morning commute!

So, I lied
Received: 11/06/2007 @ 11:35am PST
From: Yong Irwin
Hi Charlie,
I had sent an email to you shortly after you were let go from KBIG. In that email, I said that I would never listen to KBIG (now MyFM) ever again. I lied! I've been struggling to find another radio station that offers the mix of music and mix of great DJs as did KBIG. Since the change to MyFM, I've been listening to Star 98.7 (bummed that I'm still supporting Clear Channel). Although they play similar music as you did on KBIG, they are kind of a copy-cat to KROQ and sometimes I just get bored of hearing their mix of music and the DJs. There just isn't any radio station to replace KBIG.
At times when I get bored of Star, I've flipped back to MyFM just to get that other mix of music that I've enjoyed with KBIG and really hoping to see if they changed back to KBIG. I just don't know why they replaced you with Valentine. He's an idiot. He's got nothing of any importance to say. And although they kept Irma, she's become nothing more than a laugh box and news/traffic person. I think they pretty much kept her for familiarity and someone to laugh at Valentine's not-so-funny jokes. It's actually annoying. Besides Irma, it sounds like they kept Kari Steele. But, otherwise, the old KBIG team is no longer on 104.3.
Anyway, I did lie and I do tune into MyFM once in a while. I'm sorry. I just don't know how to get the same mix of music and personality that we used to have with you and the rest of the DJs on KBIG. Until you go back on the air, is there any adequate substitute that you can recommend?
A sad radio listener,
Yong
(Hi Yong...Yes, there is a station that I can recommend! It's the next one I'm on.....:)

Hi Charlie,
I have listened to you for a long time on KBIG and I never thought I would see the day that you are not on the air in the mornings at KBIG. I caught a little bit of your last show right in the middle and did not know the whole story so I was shocked when I did not hear you on the air the next morning. It saddens me that you and your crew are no longer there in the morning. You are so famous and I can not believe that the station would not include you in their new plans, this is ridiculous. I am glad that you set up your website or else I would never know what happen to you and that would be just a shame. Let me know where you will be and I will switch stations to hear you on the air again.
Thanks for all the years. You are the best!!!
Take care,
