Charlie,
I was wondering what happened to you?? I did not know that you had left the K-BIG station. I was hoping that it was not your health that made you leave. I miss listening to you in the morning on my way to work. Let me know what radio station you will be on.
Good Luck!!

Where's "Our" Charlie???
Received: 01/04/2008 @ 10:49am PST
From: Jo Ann
Hi Charlie,
Like so many have said, I have never written to a Radio Celebrity before…and believe me when I say, YOU ARE A CELEBRITY! Everybody knows your name!! And they should; you have been around for… let’s just say… a long while. Anyway, I thought I would give the station a listen even without you on it, but I really don’t like the changes they’ve made, and I’m not sure how long I can continue. And the DISCO is gone!! (I really do so-o-o-o love that music!!) Also, the DJ that replaced you, well… he just can’t replace you!! NOBODY can do that!! Charlie, you are definitely ONE OF A KIND!! I mean that from the bottom of my heart!! I know that I also speak for a lot of KBIG listeners!! The sincerity and integrity of the show has been lost without you on it!!! I will continue to mourn until your return!! When you do get back behind the “mike” or whatever path you choose, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me (us loyal listeners) know!!! You’re ONE of the BEST in the business!!!
A very loyal but sad listener,
JoJo

I've truly missed you

Charlie, I've truly missed you being around every day. I've simply just not cared for the new formats to where I don't listen much any longer. Refer to one of my favorite sites martiniinthemorning.com with Brad Chambers. They play the greats~ Check it out if you haven't already. Looking forward to hearing you perhaps this year. I'll keep an eye on your status and feel free to keep me on your distribution list. Wishing you joy, peace and health in the new year. This year will be fantastic if I have anything to do with it :) Recently we went to Sea World during the holidays. Here's a great shot at the dolphin show. btw, do you have a myspace ? Hugs, Amy aka Scoobie

NOTE TO AMY: I don't have a myspace.....my website is basically "myspace" and "my friends" get to post right here like you just did.

looking forward to hearing you again

Hi Charlie. Thanks for the heads up on the newest virus. How do you delete an email without opening it up. The way my computer works once I delete an email, the computer drops down to the next one--the envelope opens up.
Thanks again. I have started listening to KRTH 101. I also like KOST but since they let Kim go I haven't been listening to it much. I also read that they(clear channel) let Mike Nolan go but that the station decided they really needed him and hired him. I haven't heard Mike Sakellarides that was on at 10 am. Did clear channel let him go too?
Am looking forward to hearing you on the radio. Let us all know when you get hired somewhere.
God Bless
John and Evelyn Perrine
NOTE TO JOHN AND EVELYN: The postcard virus I was referring to, and showed you a picture of how it appears, requires you to click on the link they send to trigger the virus. If you're suspicious of any emails and you don't recognize the sender, don't click on the link they want you to and don't open the attachment.
And yes, Clear Channel also let Mike Sakellarides go the same day as Kim. Mike had been in that midday time slot since the station started.

Hi Charlie,
Hope you’re having a good start to 2008. I am a fan and listened to you every morning on K-Big but I don’t listen to the new format at all. Clear Channel made a big mistake changing the station, especially the morning show. I bet they lost a lot of their listeners including me.
I hope you’ll be on a new station soon. Listening to you would always brighten my day.
Happy New Year and all the best!
Sincerely,
Renee Brown

My favorite DJ
Received: 01/03/2008 @ 10:24am PST
From: Lorraine Kirby
Charlie,
It was Sept 27 when I found out that you were no longer with KBIG. I had been on vacation out of the country and when I returned was confused when I turned on KBIG and did not hear your voice. And no one was mentioning that maybe you had taken a day off.
You have been my favorite DJ for years and I would listen to whatever station you were on. (I think it is close to 40 years??, wow I can't even believe it!) Then the first day you came to KBIG I was so happy and excited. I even called you that morning and said that BRINGING YOU TO KBIG WAS THE BEST THING KBIG EVER DID!!.
Well, I don't know what happened, but if kbig let you go because they wanted a change, kbig made a very big mistake. Charlie, I know so many people that are not listening to kbig anymore and only because you are not there. You helped us get ready in the morning and drove along with us to work. We enjoy listening to your conversations with listeners and celebrities alike. You are entertaining and always make us laugh. You always have us starting the day on an up-beat!
Let us know where you'll be. Really looking forward to hearing your voice over the air again!!!
Sincerely,
Lorraine from Anaheim

Hello Charlie~
I cannot tell you how much I miss you on KBIG. I absolutely hate the babbling idiot that is on there now. It is not what I call a "clean family" show anymore. The guy is such a jerk. They made a really big mistake when they let you go. Please keep us all informed when you are back on the air. I am sure there are many more that share my feelings.
Regards,
Lori

Good Morning!
Received: 01/03/2008 @ 7:13am PST

Charlie,
I was really hoping K-BIG 104 and Clear Channel Broadcasting would come to their senses and put you back where you belong... On the morning show.
Since Clear Channel seems to be oblivious to the fact that the public LOVES to listen to you in the morning...I am actually glad that you are currently without a contract! Gives you the chance to move on! I will look forward to hearing your morning show again on whatever radio broadcast station you wind up with.
I still like the music genre that KBIG plays in the morning. However; the DJ, Valentine makes me crazy with his whining... and what is up with the “new” traffic gal talking about nonsense and/or lovely conditions on the freeways in the morning! I can’t take it anymore L No one can replace you for my morning drive. I have found the DJ’s on K-RTH tolerable, but they will only do until you are back on the air. Morning just isn’t what it used to be...
I have been listening to Charlie Tuna in the mornings since I was in elementary school with transistor radio in hand.
2008 will be GREAT! (Well... once you are back on the air!)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Lost without you
Received: 01/01/2008 @ 8:20pm PST
From: Betty Moreno
Dear Charlie,
Every morning you made my drive to work and taking the kids to school easier. My kids were able to sing the song you would play about the Tuna man. I was so sad to hear you leave I called out from work because I could not bear the news. You are an inspiration to young children and I appreciate that from you. Please add my email to your list so I can keep in touch with you. I stopped listening to KBIG because it changed. You made KBIG, no I don’t turn the radio on. Lost in LA.

I love listening to you!
Received: 01/01/2008 @ 6:45pm PST
From: Cointa Garcia
Good Morning Charlie,
I have been a listener for quite a few years now and I am sad that you no longer are with us live in the mornings. I am a 29 year old female and have always appreciated the warmth and closeness that your morning who brought. When I was younger I use to listen to KOST and I still enjoy their music but, I loved listening to you. You made me laugh. I love music too, don't get me wrong but I would turn the music down when you were not on the air or on commercial break. I never met you and I never called in nor won anything. I listen just for the entertainment you gave. Although the morning show now is okay, I have opted not to listen very often. Valentine well, he's a different personality. Not quite for me.
Thank you for dedication and I hope to hear you soon somewhere.

Charlie, the morning airwaves are not what they used to be. You are so missed. I'm sorry to say I don't even listen to KBIG anymore and I went to KOST where I also liked Mark and Kim and now Kim is gone and I can't believe that either. I'm not sure what audience Clear Channel is gearing their shows to, but I'm losing interest. I so look forward to hearing your wonderful voice again in the near future. Have a wonderful New Year and I can't wait to hear you again.

I even listened to you when you were on that sports station, and I am not a big sports fan, I love baseball, and tolerate football and play a little golf and that is about it. But I still listened to that sports station on my morning drive because you were on, and a morning drive with Charlie went so much faster than a morning without. So please, please get back on the air and let all your fans know where to find you.

Charlie, Sure miss your morning show, as does half of Los Angeles, I'm sure. I was trying all of the radio programs I could find to see if you had moved to another station, but no luck. I've been following you since the early days (KHJ!!!) and look forward to your next adventure. Hope all is well with you, and I just wanted you to know that there are a lot of us out there in your corner.
